Gau Vatika
SET WITHIN THE 2000 ACRE EXPANSIVE GROUNDS OF CCBF, THE VEDIC GAUSHALA OFFERS AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE OF INDIGENOUS CATTLE CONSERVATION, ANIMAL WELLBEING, AND EVERYDAY CARE PRACTICES.
Rooted in Vedic traditions of care and respect for cows, the Vedic Gaushala connects animal welfare with visitor learning through spaces inspired by Vastu principles. These influences come together in a sustainable design that responds to the climate, landscape, and everyday life of the gaushala.
Connectivity
The campus connects the Sag grove, visitor's centre, and cattle shelters through a network of paths and open spaces. These links guide visitors from the entrance to the gardens, café, and milk processing centre, before continuing towards the sheds and adjoining grazing areas.
Materials and Structural Design
Both zones share a material palette of stone walls and mud plaster, creating continuity across the spaces. The roof trusses draw from the branching structure of trees, with members extending from the columns to carry the roof and define the character of the interiors.
Experience
Visitors enter along a path lined with Sag trees leading to the Nakshatra Van. The visitor center introduces dairy products through its café and hands-on processing activities, while the gaushala offers a closer look at indigenous cattle and their daily care.
